Bahamas, Caribbean, there are lots of islands that way. Go talk to an experienced travel agent and tell him/her what you like. You didn't mention what time of the year you would be going but I presume you would be doing this around June/July/August
I am not a big fan of taking vacations at far away exotic places with limited time and time zone changes. I did enough travelling in my various professions so when I want to take a break, I actually enjoy staying home 8-).
I like the ocean and out of all places, I still like Monterey/Carmel in California. There are enough points of interest nearby that you can do day trips or a day overnight here and there. There are plenty of bread and breakfast places in that area. If you want to be secluded, try one of the many inns along the coast, Ventana Inn has been my favorite. There are a number of similar places along that area. I have attached a link here and you can take a look.
If you like the off the beaten path type of places, I would suggest northern California coast, a great place would be Mendocino area.
Oh, forgot to mention, if you like swimming in the ocean, then you may want to go south of these places as the ocean off the California coast is frigid until you get down to maybe Santa Barbara. As the water is cold, so you don't get big crowd at the beach and if you like walking on the beach pretty much to yourself 8-). You can surf and scuba dive with suit on however.
With best wishes and enjoy.
