Jiffy Lubes untrained staff have done it again. I brought my 1993 900 Turbo to them for an oil change. They removed the skid plate and drained the transmission. Then added four quarts of engine oil to the engine. I paid my money, got my receipt showing everything checked out. Five miles up the road the transmission slipping and the engine overheated the yellow light came on and I pulled off the road.Upon inspection the dipstick for the transmission showed no fluid. Four quarts of Type F fluid later it showed on the stick.Upon checking the engine oil stick it was about 4 inches above max. The engine was drained and refilled and it was too late. The car ran hot and the gas mileage was around 15 mpg. A few miles later it was on the back of a tow truck.
Jiffy Lube Manager Dave Martinez answer. There is no damage to the car and we won't pay for the tow. My question is what part would not void any manufactures warranty? Draining the transmission or overfilling the engine by 4 count em four quarts. The good news is they brought the skid plate to me at the second shop. I noticed it missing and called. They asked if I wanted it.
Jiffy Lube Corporate failed to keep their promise to have someone call.
Does anyone know a junkyard dog type attorney in the Thousand Oaks area of Los Angeles who would like a slam dunk case?
