Trev, I like Saabs. I own 5 of them, and have had plenty of others. They are nicely made and reliable. But, there has never been a single Saab made that can even come close to being considered a Muscle car. That would include any Saab produced Racing cars as well. Just remember these were production cars, that you bought off the lot. Look to the Germans to see what a 4 cylinder is capable of, not the Swedes. There is also a reason why all those awesome Italian sports cars have 8 cylinder motors, you simply can get a lot more out of it. You can cheaply and easily take any tame 2 barrelled stock small block chevy motor, and add a few things to make it also smoke any Saab ever made, installed in something real big like a truck or wagon even. I've got a '59 Rambler American I'm working on. If I drop a nicely equipped small block in there, a Vigen wouldn't have a leg to stand on against that in any race except horsepower numbers.
