If your GPS antenna is vanilla flavored and reasonably generic, any of the trip planning software on the market should do fine. I use Delorme's, there is also Microsoft's and a few others. Look for how many POI's (Points of Interest) they have, if they will tell you, how recent their database is, and so on.
You could also do this off-line on Yahoo or Mapquest and take a tree-based database along. There's plenty of civilization along your route, a nav system would be more critical if you were out in the boonies.
