Wow. Sounds like you're really doing things up. I envy you the concrete deck. I've got some older wood decking that runs around two sides of my house. Low to the ground, so when I drop anything between the boards, it's gone.
I'm getting the pad in just so I have more decent "playground" space, pretty much doubles the area of my garage, with half inside and half out. I'll just have straight concrete poured and am trying to figure out how rough I should have it surfaced. I'm leaning towards a light brooming. Would love really smooth but suspect impractical for outside surface in upstate ny climate. The inside of the garage is older concrete that's pretty stained at this point -- I do keep two little British cars there <g>.
Balance of this summer's work, and what disposable income I had, is going to a paver walk up to the backdoor and a fair bit of fill and reseed for my increasingly seedy grounds.
So, I wish you good luck in projectland as well. - Tom
