As far as I know, Snap-On is proud to produce everything marked "Snap-On" in the US, at least I reckon I've seen that mentioned in some ads. Bahco, purchased by Snap-On from Sandvik, still has separate and independent production and development of tools. This might change in a few years if Snap-On wants to streamline production to cut margins. I expect Bahco, Lindström, Belzer, Öberg and other classic tool brand names to be kept as they have a good recognition value. To me, and most other europeans, "Snap-On" sounds really cheap and un-professional. I know they DO make great tools, don't get me wrong, but I know people that won't even touch a spanner unless it's labelled "BAHCO". I still have old spanners I inherited from my granddad labelled "BA Hjort & Co" (=BAHCo) that they'll have to pry from my cold dead hands :) They have a superiour feeling compared to modern spanners. The steel in those old tools really sings. I have Lindström pliers made all in metal, no plastic or rubber, and they are wonderful to work with. I also have Gedore, Kamasa, and other tools, but I swear by Bahco.
