The first Fairlady was a roadstar, with its first public showing in 1961. The first production model hit the streets in 1962, and it was this series of roadstarts that the legendary Zs replaced. Since this is about best car with the worst name, I still have a hard time with calling a phenomenal legendary sports car the "Fairlady," with or without the Z. I love going to Japan and find the Japanese to be both marvelous and fascinating so I put this in one of the categories that is lost in the translation.
