I have purchased 3 new cars in my life. Well 2 and a lease. When I got the 9-3 lease I said I'll only lease it if there is no decal. Luckily, that dealer didn't do decals, only a plate frame. I took the frame off the week I got the car, and later put on a TSN frame.
I can still see the shadow of a Dorchel (sp?) sticker on the back of my SPG. No amount of polishing takes care of it.
A buddy of mine made the dealer remove their decal from his new jetta before he would sign to buy it.
The classiest of these decals I've seen is a Caddy dealer called Crestmont in Cleveland. They had "Crestmont" written in the Caddy script and put it on the other side of the trunk from the Caddy label. It's a raised plastic/metal affair that looks pretty good/balanced. I guess the Capital "C" and the script looks kinda close to Caddy. That's the only time it looks OK to me, but I'm not buying a caddy (or moving to Cleveland again) anytime soon.
I hope they don't start putting any of these labels on in CA!
