That is resignation your hearing. The wife probably has been harping about it so that is the excuse. However, the guy has generally decided on his own it just isn't worth it. This seems to be especially true with large power boats. When you add up the of cost of fuel, marina, the yard, short seasons, and just not getting to use it that often you get such resignation. I grew up around marinas and it is amazing how little use most boats get. This is especially true of the big power cruisers. A lot of these folks, if they came down to the marina at all, would just sit on their boat and bitch about the price of fuel. I guess that isn't much fun.
