Buy the stuff from the local parts store and repair it yourself. Rust of this type is particularly worrisome, striking at the heart of your relationship. By getting personally involved you will clearly demonstrate your commitment to the car and the future of your relationship.
In addition, I suggest that you thank your g/f for having an affair and, by so doing, causing you to notice the rust around your car's rear wheel arch. Tell her that few men are so lucky as to catch this insidious rot in time. She will be impressed by your values, and she will look at you in a new light.
And as for the other guy, wasn't the last time you took your g/f's car to the body repair shop because she got dinged in the rear? And didn't your g/f then insist on picking up the car herself? And isn't that car you hear slipping off into the dark when she comes home just a little too professionally quiet? Learn your lesson. Let another man touch your car, and he sullies your soul. Your g/f saw this and lost all respect for you. She even attempted to selflessly substitute herself for your car in the arms of this wanton body repair man, hoping to help you recover your self respect. Show that you honor her sacrifice. Show her that your soul is pure and your heart right. Man, do your own body work!
