For mixing my gin and tonics (G&Ts) at home the standard is Gordon's, it is pretty balanced and inexpensive. If at a restaurant I usually indulge by having one with Bombay Sapphire which will make a tastier G&T. Now for Martini's I have become recently attached to Beefeaters, having moved away from Tanqueray (which is still fine don't get me wrong). Oddly with Martinis I find that Sapphire doesn't quite give me what I want, too floral. But heck, the better the Gin the better the end drink right. A Tanqueray Ten has a great mouth feel and Juniper berry flavor and thus far has been the smoothest I have found. I am getting more curious though & want to start checking out some of the lesser known and/or designer labels....Plymouth you say, hmmmm.
