so we have a chest full of single malts that we like to sample on a regular basis. I tend to like the peaty Islays and Orkneys the best but, truthfully, I like 'em all really.
Our all-time favorites have been the Distiller's Editions available, sadly, only in the UK. Ones that immediately come to mind are the Oban, Lagavulin and Talisker (Isle of Skye) DE's so if you ever find yourself stuck in Heathrow for a few hours (Terminal 1) a visit to World of Whiskys can be a real treat. The Balvenie Doublewood is also great and who would turn down a dram of The McCallan 15 Y.O.? If you like a lighter, softer taste I recommend the 15 Y.O. Dalwhinnie from the Grampains (Inverness).
We usually avoid anything with the words "Glen" in the title. Not being a fan of blends we never use them except when mixed with ginger ale or ginger wine.
