Jim,

I have set up an account for my credit cards in Quicken...So I know my balance on the card, just like a checkinga ccount. That way I do break up my expenditures for which I use a credit card. Then when I pay the bill, it is recorded as a balance transfer from checking to my card.

Just a thought. (I know, then you have to be as up-to-date on the carda s you do on the check book, not always easy.)
