OT, road warrior luggage question

I've been travelling quite a bit in the last year, and am getting ready to move overseas with the Navy where I'll be travelling even more. So far I've worn out a few bags and have some higher quality ones that have fared better. I have a 22" rolling carry-on and a large rolling duffle bag from Briggs and Riley that have been worth every penny.
The last few times I've packed, I realize I need a 24 or 26" upright to take on the mid-length trips that are too short for the big duffle but too long for the 22". I went to the mall luggage store and they no longer carry B+R, they have Swiss Army, travelpro and Tumi. Tumi didn't look like it was worth the huge price difference, but I don't have any experience with any other brands. How do these two compare to B+R, and are there any other quality companies I should look at. I don't mind spending a couple hundred dollars for a good bag that isn't going to fail on a trip, I've been through that a few times with older luggage items.
Thanks,
Ken
