cool, cool. what do you plan to do with it?
anyway, i would first start with the LSAT preparation. it will be important but perhaps not critical as you bring other factors (i.e. work experience as a non-traditional student) to the mix. get practice books and work them for a while, then buy a course -- $1,000 or so for Kaplan, whatever, just do it. i take standardized tests very well and i still got a significant bounce out of it. there is a process to the madness, trust me.
as far as everything else, check each individ. school for its own timelines and procedures. if you need some financial aid you will probably need to fill out the FAFSA and all of that is online and you can't really submit that until early january for that upcoming year, although you can go to http://www.finaid.org i think it is to practice the FAFSA and roughly determine your expected family contribution.
have a great time. it was the best 3 years of my life. its the practice that sucks. frankly, i'm finding other ways to use my degree that are more rewarding, but YMMV. feel free to holler off line.
