I installed one myself Posted by Saabpilot [Email] (#134) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Saabpilot) on Wed, 10 Nov 2004 13:51:44 In Reply to: OT: Anyone have a headrest mount LCD monitor?, Bob Falfa, Tue, 9 Nov 2004 14:36:13 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I was going to buy one pre-installed in a headrest but the kid at the retail store told me to save my money. This was for my wife's '02 Dodge Caravan. I got an LCD monitor fairly cheap on Ebay (you can get them practically anywhere these days). I used the recess mounting bezel that came with the monitor and an X-acto knife and I cut the rear of the headrest, pulling the foam out in the process. I cut the hole a little too small intentionally so that I could trim until I got it just right. Once the hole was just right I used cable ties to tie the mounting bezel to the two posts inside the headrest. Then I ran the wires from the inside of the headrest, out the pole hole in the bottom of the headrest and into the seat cover, exiting at the bottom to route to my VCR and DVD player. It looks like it was professionally done and the installation cost me nothing more than an hour of my time.
