we have that setup... streaming itunes i suppose... It can work very well with iTunes to stream music to the Express which has a line out jack to speakers. Also the Express allows you to connect a USB printer to share with your network of computers. But, that said, the Linksys wifi gives you more features in terms of configuration and security but you'd need something extra for the line out stuff and USB print server box...
We have some 802.11g to 802.11g and we never get anywhere near 54Mbps - not even close... so I don't know what that marketing bs is all about.
