Red Wings are sold by independent shoe stores and you can still find styles not made in China. They are popular with letter carriers and others who are on their feet in all kinds of weather. I have a pair of Red Wing Gore Tex ankle high boots with a traction sole (made in the USA), and that's what I wear when it's too snowy to wear my cowboy boots. For the latter, I like Tony Lama, Double H, and, for dress up, Lucchese.
