Most rings are designed to mount into aftermarket wheels and be retained by spring clips, typically of wire. These rings are not very deep.
If you do not have BC issues, you could have some deaper rings machined that you can press onto the hub extension. These could be aluminum or steel. If too thin, this can be a problem to machine. Make them as deap as the new hub extension and you may want to secure them there as well with something to bond them of they do not fit quite snug after they are machined. But note any issues with removal of the brake rotors.
