about time of day? day of week? And they really want location too. All these factors correlate with risk of accident, severity of accident, or exposure to property damage and theft. They love to use that rather intrusive information. Then again I suppose you could argue that this is what insurance is all about, always has been about, and will always be about. Still that doesn't make me any more confortable about it and people really need to ask seriously who controls technology and information and to what end. Some people really don't seem to mind having every move they make recorded, inspected, and coorelated against dozens of corporate and government databases. Promise to save them 10 cents on a can of beans at the store this week, 10% on their insurnance, or to make them safe from terror and it strikes so many as a fair trade. Implant a a GPS chip under everyones skin? You could even come up with all sorts of good arguments doing it. Many will say "Sure why not I have nothing to fear".
STOP STARING AT ME! I AM NOT AN ALARMIST! Oh wait perhaps I .... It is simply that there is such a thing as too much information.
