If you go with a small power lead the amp will not get enough power to properly allow it to amplify the signal. Doing this will cause the amp to clip which makes it VERY easy to blow the amp as well as the speaker!!
The factory wiring is NOT designed to take the current draw that a sub amp requires & is only designed to power lights, radio, power antenna, etc.
If the bazooka is the only amp you plan on running go buy 8ga wire aswell as a inline fuse which must be mounted within a foot or 2 of the battery. It's actually VERY easy to run the wire to the hatch, less then a 45 minute job & is totally worth the effort! If you think you might want to add another amp at some time I would suggest spending a little more $$$ & get 4ga wire instead fo the 8ga.
