Supplier discount Posted by Ari [Email] (#2847) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Ari) on Wed, 5 Jan 2005 07:36:15 In Reply to: Re: Employee or supplier?...., Rich Maurin, Tue, 4 Jan 2005 17:23:01 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I checked into the supplier discount last summer, as much to my surprise, my company is a supplier.
For the supplier discount, there is a fixed price, which is pretty close. to invoice. See https://www.gmsupplierdiscount.com/
I was able to call up Saab and they told me the supplier price for what I was looking for. You can walk into the dealer and they should give you that price. If there are incentives, those will apply to that price, so it gets sweeter.
The advantage of the supplier discount is that it's no haggle. It's also good if cars are going for over invoice.
HOWEVER - There are times when you may want to stick that discount in your pocket. If a car is sitting on the lot, the dealer may be able to give you a lower price than the supplier discount. So the discount is a good place to start - you might end up there, but it's possible to go lower.
