OT: How to iPod my Saabs

I got a mini iPod for Christmas (yes my wife picked up on my none too subtle hints) and was wondering about the best way to take it on the road. Ideally I would like to be able to switch it between my 95 9kCSE and my wife's 88 9kT (both with stock Clarion systems - mine has an additional CD changer), so I was thinking the cassette adaptor is the way to go (I've heard mixed reviews of the sound quality of FM transmitters). Is this the best route to take?
