My wife and I were amazed at the amount of cursing on the show. We're not offended, mainly since it's supposed to be an accurate portrayal of the time. We joke that college kids could make a drinking game out of it. Everytime Swearengen (sp?) says a particular word, you got to drink.
Needless to say I have nothing bad to say about TV. There is a lot of trash on TV, but there is a lot of educational material as well. I once had a person (that didn't know me very well)tell me to read a book instead of watch TV. This after he learned what I pay for cable TV. My response was that first, there is more trashy, mindless material in print than there is on TV. Second, I do enjoy reading, anything from philosphy to Tom Clancy. Third, I also do enjoy watching TV, watching movies, playing Xbox, working on my house, working on my cars, walking my dog, spending time with my lady. It's called being well-rounded. However, to those who don't like to watch TV or very little of it, I applaud you as that's your choice, your right and your decision.
OK, OK, I'll get off my soapbox. He he.
