I got an HP 35, their very first calculator and was a real wiz at engineering calculators with it. So it really earned its keep. Yes, it was very expensive then. It still works. I should rebuild the battery pack and find a way to mod the termination at the end of the charger's wires, that fails from flex fatique over the years.

When I got that calc, it sent a ripple through the engineering school. Profs said, if its a thing of common utility, yes, take it into the exams. The the other students went nuts about it, but the HP was too expensive. About a year or so later TI came out with a cost effective alternative and that showed up very quickly. Not many would ask to borrow or use my HP35, as they were not able to utilize the RPN notation method of use and would hand it back in total frustration. I felt about the same when trying to use their calculators.
