... explain it. Sometimes it is easier to admit a small problem than a larger one (shrug). The problem would be there regardless of where the car is kept, or how it is driven. The worst consequence of the problem, meaning the ruined engine, may only show up on some cars, or in cold weather.
Saab is claiming a small percentage 3-4% of cars have the problem. The lose headbolts seem to be on many more cars than 4%. Too bad both for Saab and the owners of the cars if they do not recall the affected cars and fix it, as opposed to letting the cars go out of warranty and wait for the ruined engines. Like most things that require preventive maintenance, it comes down to pay now or pay later.
