One more reason I will remain a Macintosh user

I was a loyal IBM PC/Microsoft user from the early 1980s (DOS version 2) until around 1992 when Apple introduced System 7. It was so superior to Windows 3.0 that I immediately adopted it, despite the higher cost of the Apple hardware. Since then I have bought scores of Apples for business and personal use. All have performed flawlessly until my current personal machine, a G3 iBook. It has been in the shop three times, always at Apple expense and never for more than a day, for logic board replacements. It's about two years old.
Yesterday it glitched for the fourth time. Reluctant to send it in for a fourth repair attempt, I phoned Apple intending to negotiate for a $500 credit on the purchase of a new G4 iBook. Apple informed me that because my machine is a "looper" (multiple repair attempts for the same recurring problem), they will not undertake a fourth repair attempt, but will replace the machine with a brand new G4 iBook, including expansion memory to match the expansion memory in my current machine. That's a $1400 retail value. My cost for the current machine was less than $1100. This morning DHL delivered a shipoping box and prepaid shipping label for my return.
This is the way to treat customers. Did they just give away a machine, or did they just assure themselves that I will be back for dozens more major purchases over the next couple of years?
SAAB service writers, take note.
BTW my name is spelled wrong on this post because I can't find the password file on the machine I'm about to send back. Oh well, Scott's a Mac user; I'm sure he'll give me a PW reset.
