Saab has started its 2005 sales drive in buoyant mood with January sales up a staggering 48 per cent on the same month last year.
Last month the Swedish manufacturer sold 1611 cars, against 1089 in January 2004, easily maintaining its place as the fastest growing premium brand in the UK.
In 2004 Saab sales exceeded 20,000 for the first time in the company’s history in the UK. That represented a 39 per cent increase on the previous year.
"We are confident we will continue to increase our sales. The 1.9 litre TiD common rail diesel engine has been received extremely well and is now more freely available. In addition we have won a battle with some of our European companies for more Saab 9-3 Convertibles for the UK. These together are standing us in excellent stead," says Saab GB managing director Jonathan Nash.
