I've had my driver's license for 41 years (WOW!!...now I feel like sh!t) and enjoy driving as much now as when I first received my license. My wife also likes to drive, but not quite with the same enthusiasm. I think that if you're driving something you truly enjoy, you are a more involved and safer driver. My father also loved driving and was a dyed-in-the-wool Pontiac performance guy. When I was 16, the only car I drove was his, in other words, "the family car." My dad's family car when I was 16 was a 1973 Pontiac Catalina, 421HO engine, optional 3 deuces, and a four-speed Hurst which replaced the stock Muncie linkage. Now THERE was a car guy. It's funny that I should think of this story today because he died suddenly 33 years ago today. Thanks, Dad.
