I don't think GM really has a direction in Europe and thats thier problem. It seems like they approach the European market just like they appraoch the American market, with shotgun blast like force. Models and brands overlap each other creating huge competion between brands within their own company. With any competition there is always a loser and this loser naturally will sag on the rest of the company. GM settled out of the deal with FIAT for $2billion. From what I understand it is the amount they supposedly saved by getting into the deal with FIAT. What is going to be really interesting is how much longer FIAT will last and what effect this will have on other Italian car makers.
