Anyone know about European Delivery delays?

I purchased my 2004 Aero for European Delivery in June of 2004. Great time with it for 7 months throughout Europe. I shipped it back to CA (Port Hueneme) on January 7th 2005. It actually arrived at Port Hueneme on the TITUS (Roll On, Roll Off) on February 12th. Now the car has been sitting there and it is February 25th.
It has at Port Hueneme longer than it took the ship to get from Brunswick GA, through the Panama Canal and up the Mexican Coast to the Port where it was rolled off. The ship then left for Japan and has now arrived at port in Japan and my Saab is still at Port Hueneme.
Does anyone know how long these "stays" usually take? My thinking is that an unusually long "inventorying" of Saabs aboard ship and then upon arrival in the US is definitely not good for the brand.
When a car is prepaid by a customer, such as myself, it is equally irksome that the car should remain in limbo somewhere with no idea as to the release date. Also, since this is my first European Delivery, I have considered going to the port and finding out what can be done, if anything, to expedite what (IMHO) can be done to allow the car to be "released from purgatory".
The dealer has been very responsive and have informed me that they have no idea how long this portion of the process will take. Is there anyone with some past experience or how I might proceed?
Cheers...Charlie
