Had the D70 digital SLR for a few weeks now. Didin't get a chance to use it extensively until Saturday evening. Son's high school drama club had a performance. The D70 really showed its worth. I am very impressed. Although I probably haven't even scratched the surface of what it is capable of doing.

Flash photography was prohibited during the performancd. I set ISO to 1600 to shoot in aperture priority with the 80-300 mm zoom mounted. Many other digital cameras can probably do the same so there is nothing special about that. I used to set my stolen Nikon 5700 to ISO 800 and shoot in dimmed surroundings.

It is the time delay, or lack of it, that sets the D70 apart from other digital cameras I own. In almost all digital cameras, you have to wait a few seconds for the camera to process the picture after each shot. The D70 has none. You shoot one picture after another just like a traditional film camera.

My only complaint is its size. The D70 is big even without the zoom lenses. But can't have my cake and eat it too. I should've also gotten the 1 gb memory card instead of the 512 mb one.
