I went to ASU and UofA. I enjoyed the weather when I first got there -- it's hot and sunny every day (ok, only 300+ days of the year). And by "sunny," I mean the sun is absolutely brutal and there are no -- zero -- clouds in the sky. If you like mountain biking or biking in general, it's a good place, with a longer riding season than in New England. After living in CT for the past four+ years, you'd have to pay me a fortune to go back to Arizona. When I went to visit AZ and asked my friend (who lived there longer than I did) what to do, he said "sit in your hotel and drink beer." In may ways, he's right. In CT, we're close to Boston, NYC, Vermont, the beach, numerous aquariums, museums (sp?), parks with roller coasters, you name it. For that reason and the fact that I can no longer stand the weather in AZ, I couldn't go back there. I remember putting in gravel in early May, and it was so freaking hot that I drank so much water I had to go inside -- I couldn't drink anymore water. And that's MAY! You still have June, July, August, September, and part of October that will have a high of over 100 every day. I went there at the end of Feb. this year and ran the AC in my rental car! If you like 9 months of summer, AZ is for you.
