Those things are different all over the place. I'd check with your state DMV as well as the seller's state. Sometimes you can take the plates from your wrecked 9.5 & use them on the new car for 30 days, then tell your insurance about it within that same forst 30 days. (That's how it works in Ohio.) Not long ago Mike Lynch said (I think) that in California the same plate stays with the car...
