Sometimes a variety of them depending on how they were working at the time!
My '96 9K is Griffiin (for the logo, not the model of an earlier Saab.)
My '84 C900 was Sven. (And when whenver my wife and I talked of replacing it she'd say we should get another Sven, as if it were the make.)
My '78 Scirocco was Rocky
An '86 GTI was bright red and named Rudolf (Rudolf the Red)
The battered '66 Volvo 122S in college was The Beast. (my GF loved the name: "You go get The Beast and I'll meet you downstairs.)
A few old Beetles were mostly nameless. An MG Midget was called Baby.
Now my daughter has a '95 9K. The day we got it she wants to know what to name it, as she thinks cars have to be named---cuz I name them. So she goes online to a Swedish baby name listing and picks out a name. Now the the white 9K CS is called Bjorn, which means "bear" in Swedish. Somehow appropriate for a 9K--a big, strong, tough white bear.
But I feel like I should do a family portrait: Griffin and Bjorn--the 9Ks.
