Ping me if you would like some assistance - after 8 years at, um, a large software company in the, um, Redmond area, I moved to Austin.
While I really like Austin already, I miss Seattle, it's a great place to live, there is tons to see and do. Real estate is UNREAL there right now (unreal = way overpriced). Nice things about Washington, though sales tax is nearly 9% in King County, there is no income tax, and property tax is a heck of a lot less than it is here in Austin.
To find a place with any acreage, you will have to look way north (north of Lynnwood), east of Redmond (Carnation area and beyond) or south down past Tacoma (BAAAAD commute). Traffic in Seattle is currently bad, and frankly isn't getting better any time soon, as the city has no plans for real mass-transit, but needs it badly.

Those two firms control a huge chunk of real estate transactions in Washington. FWIW, the reason I moved was to appease my wife - who grew up in FL, and didn't fancy the high number of overcast days in Seattle.
Best of luck, whichever way you decide to go.
