OT: double ovens and the mushroom effect

So my wife and I decided it's time to replace the 25 year old, 24" single oven we have with a double convection oven. I figured a little cabinet rework to accommodate the double and we're good to go.
Turns out hardly anyone makes a 24" double anymore and they are actaully more expensive than the 27"s and 30"s.
So plan B is to reconfigure part of the cabinetry to accommodate a 30" double convection.
In shopping for 30" convections we've run the gammat from KitchenAid to Dacor to Fisher & Paykel to Thermador. It seems that KitchenAid is pretty much an easy-bake oven compared to the wattages that these others use in the cooking elements. And as always, the price keeps getting higher and higher with features, etc.
Then there's the dilema that the frig won't match. And stainless is slightly different hues from one manufacturer to the next. So it's best to stay with the same brand for all the applicances. (Hence, the mushroom effect with this once simple project/purchase.)
Has anyone recently purchased a double convection oven? Can anyone give me some personal/real world input on performance?
Thanks.
