What should I do? The conclusion

I took the time to read the fine print of the Wynn’s Warranty. This is not easy. It covers the convertible top motor but no mention of the ECU. It mentions ECM in relation to fuel injection. It appears to be an inclusionary contract with a separate list of exclusions. So it appears that it may not cover an ECU for the convertible top. However, my beef is with the dealer for telling me that the warranty company would, in fact, cover the cost of the repair when it would not. That said, I have reached, what I think is, a reasonable agreement with the dealer. You recall I want to keep a good relationship with these people because I believe them to provide good service and good value.
They offered and I agreed to pay for the dealer cost of the ECU. They are not charging for any labor. This means that I pay about half the original bill or $400 and some change instead of $800 and some change.
I did get a new ECU and the convertible top works great and the job is warranted for a year. So I did get real value. I feel obligated to pay a reasonable portion of the bill. The dealer in turn is giving up their profit because I was not given a choice in the matter. I think this is fair and equitable.
