I made a big pot of awesome chilie two Sunday's ago but forgot to freeze it before traveling last week. Originally, after cooking it for about 4 hours I ate one bowl and put the rest in the refridgerator. Since then it's been out of the fridge for only a minute or 2 at a time and it still smells great. I used ground hamburger and a tomato base...
I just pulled a bowl out of the microwave, had a spoonful at my mouth, when it occured to me that it's pretty old. I'm single so I called my mom, she said it would probably be okay but didn't know. I called my girlfriend who asked her mom and she said "no way". An engineer I work with called me in the meantime and his thought was that the acid from the tomatoes would make it okay.
Any thoughts? I'm hungry, maybe I should just order a pizza?
