Ian - No, we were just referring to the early demand for the 9-7X which is very encouraging. Saab dealers have been taking deposits from customers for this vehicle, which has not happened for quite some time.
Regarding your concerns about Saab's future: compared with Chevrolet, Saab will always remain a small player - no news in that regard we would say.
The reasons why Saab remains important to GM remain crystal clear:
- The global premium segment is one of the strongest growing segments. Saab is an integral part of GM’s strategy to get its fair share in that segment
- Saab is GM’s only European premium brand, and well represented from a global standpoint
- Almost all Saab sales are 'plus business' to GM, as we are not competing with any other GM brand.
- Saab customers are among the most desirable in the industry, as they are significantly younger, better educated and enjoy much higher spendable income than the average car buyer.
So, if you haven't already: spread the word, join the club and buy a Saab!
