Here's a Link to the 9000 Aero page with 1993 Car and Driver Test Results. (I've seen 0-60 times between 6.1 and 6.9 for the 9000 Aero at different pages, but I only looked this one up).
While the 250 HP and 258 lb-ft (Exactly the same torque as my Aero has) is impressive, don't the '06 9-5 Aeros boast 250 HP?
I really think that its an attempt to make the car saleable in the U.S. Too many amercians want a 6-cyl. more than they want a fast car (Because they think that a V6 (or I6) is the only viable way to get that (See Nissan, BMW, MB, other GM's, Fords, everything...)). Maybe the availablity of the V6 will bring more people into Saab showrooms. I do like the dual exhaust!!!
It does sound like a supurb engine, though, and surely the Saab expertise in the turbo system will prove to be invaluable to GM. (I just hope that GM continues to let Saab do its magic...turbos, ergonomics, practicality, and safety)
Well, happy Saabing. I might have to find an '06 Aero and race, just for fun.
