Repaint vs touch up.... Posted by Mike Lynch [Email] (#81) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Mike Lynch) on Sun, 29 May 2005 11:42:12 In Reply to: body repair, David Ross, Sun, 29 May 2005 11:22:57 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Gernerally the touch up guys are best for small spots, not long ones, and stuff on plastic bumpers that has a smaller are with a closer edge. For what you describe the entire side of the car does need repainting, even into the front fender though it wasn't damaged just for color matching purposes.
3 panels, no bodywork, $1,500 plus at a first line shop. Ask who the dealer uses, avoid the chains. Definitely an insurance thing and a good example of the value of a low comprehensive deductible.
When it's all done take it to your local Saab used car manager and have him critique the work. He'll be an expert in finding bodywork.
