The simple answer is, if you like driving a stick shift, no automatic will do it for you. No paddle shifters or levers or anything replace the fun of doing it all yourself. It's a purely personal choice.
That said, the benefits of a manual generally are: lower purchase price, better mileage, better reliability, and theoretically better performance. The benefit of the automatic is that it's automatic. Take your pick.
