I wanted to get rid of some unused apps (MS games, MSN 8, etc.) so I used the Add/Remove Windows Components tool. In this program, you put a check next to the stuff you want to get rid of, and it does it for you. If it works.

In my case, it deleted everything, not just the ones with a check. So right now, I've got no Outlook Express, no Windows Messenger, Calculator, games, Character Map, Clipboard Viewer, or Windows Media Player.

To top it off, I tried using System Restore at 4 different Restore points, and each time it told me that Windows was unable to Restore to that point. So I went to my Gateway Recovery Program, and each time I open it, I get a freakin "encountered a problem and needs to close" error. F^&%ing beautiful.

So at 2am, here I am trying to manually reinstall these apps. I just want to throw this POS out the window and get a PowerBook.
