Many domestic brands, IMO, have been overpriced for some time. I believe this is a small sign of the domestic auto market correcting itself.
I'm not sure the $30+ at each fillup is a fair comment (the ugly part I can't necessarily disagree with). How much does it cost to fillup a Saab using premium? Maybe your mileage is enough better than the average Buick or Ford 500 to offset the cost, I dunno.
If only the domestics would build something desirable AND affordable. Whoever said "it costs just as much to make a car with nice-looking sheet metal as it does ugly sheetmetal" hit the nail on the head.
Of all the domestics out there right now, the only one that continues to catch my eye is the Mustang GT. Not quite practical for a family of four, even if it was eligible under the new Ford employee discount.
