If you happen to be reading this - I did this, but my experience was cut short by 11 months due to more than one female volunteer being assaulted on the trip. They pulled us all out of a certain Central American country and put us up for over a month in DC (they offered us the help of therapists, doctors, etc) to ensure everyone was ok mentally and physically. Then we were told as a group that if our records were verified that it would show "completed." We got the check and back to "normal life." I wanted to finish all 27 months - but in the end they handled the situation above and beyond and treated everyone well.
