Here's your entire post (emphasis mine):
"The boys firing the rockets are the ones actually at fault here, and I REALLY DON'T SEE HOW THE GUYS IN THE CAR CAN BE CHARGED WITH MANSLAUGHTER. Though they shouldn't have gotten out and chased the kids and definitely shouldn't have fled the scene, the kids should not have been firing rockets at cars in the first place."
I respectfully submit that if a person doesn't see how the guys in the car can be charged with manslaughter, that person must believe that beating up the kids and chasing them in front of a car is an appropriate and expected response under the circumstances.
I certainly agree that what the kids did initiated the whole episode, and if the initiating event had not occurred, the response would not have occurred either.
To carry your logic to an extreme:
Suppose my neighbor was walking his dog, and he permitted Fido to defecate on my beautifully manicured front lawn. Offended and angry, I pulled out my Glock and shot him five times through the heart. If he hadn't permitted his dog to soil my lawn, he would still be alive.
As I understand your logic, my neighbor would be "the one actually at fault here" (to quote you), since he initiated the exchange. Does that mean that I couldn't or shouldn't be charged with shooting him?
Best regards,
Dave
PS: No offense or insult intended, I just enjoy a spirited discussion.
