OT: Collated screwdriver....... Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Wed, 20 Jul 2005 03:33:51 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I am in the process of building a wooden privacy fence, and since this project will require driving over 1200 2-inch screws I thought it would be a good time to add to my arsenal of tools and buy a collated screwdriver.
I can't get the thing to work right! I am using the correct nose piece set to the proper screw length, have adjusted the counter-sink to desired finish, yet it won't drive the screw to proper depth. According to the manual (I actually read the manual first, we engineers typically use owner's manuals as kindling) at full screw depth the clutch disengages while motor continues to run. I can't get the screw to full depth with this tool. My 9.6v drill/driver has no difficulty advancing the screws to full depth but the collated driver leaves the screws an inch or more above the surface with clutch still engaged.
Any hints? BTW-It is a Senco DS2000AC. Thanks.
