My McAfee ViruScan keeps finding adware and viruses every night through On-Access Scan. It says that both Clean File and Delete File failed, but doesn't say what to do. I can't run an On-Demand Scan because it freezes the computer (hard drive makes a loud, cyclical noise and the program locks up).
Ad-aware also freezes with hard drive noise when I try a scan. It finds stuff, but freezes before the scan is complete. Spybot, Microsoft Anti-spyware and McAfee AntiSpyware all scan OK, but find nothing.
When ViruScan finds the bad stuff, it tells me that its in the C\:System Volume Information\_restore folder, but I can't even find that folder to manually delete the stuff. This has all happened within the last week.
Any ideas??
Thanks!!
Pete
