You don't have to do anything to transfer the manufacturer's warranty. It just goes for 5 years / 50k miles from original delivery. Saab dealers aren't supposed to care whether you're the original purchaser.
Don't forget the seatbelt, perforation & emmissions warranties which each go longer than 50k. Read your books.
Seven months to go means it started February 2002. Make sure the warranty wasn't started earlier by being a dealer loaner or ???
How can a 50k warranty run out at 49928? That means it had to have minus 72 miles at delivery???
Aftermarket warranties beyond the factory one have all kinds of different rules about transferring.
